General Purpose Pure Water Systems (Type 3)

Type 3 water is the lowest laboratory water grade, recommended for glassware rinsing, heating baths and filling autoclaves. These systems can also be used to feed Type I systems. Type 3 water purification systems produce pure water using Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology, which removes about 90 to 99% of all impurities. For many applications Type III water is the ideal level of purity. The primary osmosis water quality has the minimum level of purity for use in laboratories.
